Frequently asked questions

WCAG 2.2 AA compliance means your website meets internationally recognized accessibility standards designed to ensure people of all abilities can use your site effectively. These guidelines focus on making content perceivable, operable, and understandable - including support for screen readers, keyboard navigation, color contrast, readable text, and predictable interactions.

For SLED agencies, WCAG 2.2 AA is the most commonly required level for meeting ADA expectations, Section 508 alignments, and state accessibility mandates. In our Site Health Audit, we assess how your current site performs against these criteria and identify specific gaps, risks, and practical steps to improve compliance.

The audit typically takes 3-4 business days from request to delivery.

During that time, we review your site across four key areas:

  • Accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA compliance)
  • User experience and usability
  • Load speed and performance
  • SEO and findability

Once complete, you'll receive a clear, easy-to-understand summary of findings along with prioritized recommendations - not just issues, but guidance on what matters most and why. There's no obligation or sales pressure; the goal is to give your team actionable insight you can use immediately.

Yes. We regularly work with SLED agencies and are well-versed in the central IT policies, digital standards, and procurement practices that vary from state to state. This includes accessibility requirements, security considerations, content governance, hosting constraints, and design system or branding standards mandated at the state level.

The digital, accessibility, and IT guidelines published by your state we factor those directly into our discovery, design, and development practices. When standards are evolving or inconsistently applied, we help interpret them pragmatically - so recommendations are realistic, defensible, and aligned with how government actually operates, not just best-case theory.

Yes. We follow a structured, user centered design approach grounded in design thinking principles. Our process is designed to create clarity, reduce risk, and ensure alignment throughout each project. We work through a Discovery, Define, Design, and Deliver framework. During these phases, we conduct stakeholder feedback sessions to stay aligned on goals and priorities, user interviews to identify pain points and unmet needs, and usability testing with real users to validate design decisions.

In addition, we leverage established design systems that are built on proven best practices for usability, accessibility, and consistency. When appropriate, we also adapt or extend existing design systems to ensure the final designs are high quality, scalable, WCAG compliant and ready for development. This approach helps ensure designs are not only visually strong, but also reliable, consistent, and effective in real world use.

Yes. We’ve modernized websites for agencies of all sizes - from small departments to large, multi-division organizations. Below are a few examples:

Idaho.gov

The Idaho Office of Information Technology (ITS) partnered with In Time Tec to redesign and rebuild Idaho.gov - the State of Idaho's primary public-facing website - into a modern, accessible, mobile-friendly, and AI-enabled digital experience. Across a 14-week Discovery phase, 16-week Development cycle, and 8-week post-launch support window, In Time Tec delivered a comprehensive redesign, UX overhaul, technical architecture, and WordPress-based content management system that reflects Idaho's brand, simplifies access to services, and prepares the state for future digital innovation.

Transparent Idaho

The State Controller's Office launched Transparent.Idaho.gov to provide citizens with unprecedented access to state government spending data. The site allows users to explore detailed financial information, track expenditures, and gain insights into how taxpayer dollars are allocated. Together, we created a user-friendly, responsive website. The website now has detailed financial information and promotes trust in government.

Next Steps Idaho (NSI)

The State Board of Education needed a fully modernized Next Steps Idaho platform - one that could support students, educators, and administrators with secure accessible, and intuitive career-planning tools. The redesign and rebuild of the entire site, migrates 16 sub-applications while advancing accessibility to WCAG 2.2 AA. The result is a scalable, future-ready platform that centralizes resources, improves usability, and supports Idaho's education ecosystem for years to come.
